The new Sky series “Me and the Others” with Tom Schilling in the lead role will mark the beginning of the “Summer Special” at the Berlinale.

According to Sky, the series “Me and the Others” will open the “Summer Special”, the audience part of this year’s Berlinale, on June 9th. An open-air cinema was set up on Museum Island for the summer event. It’s not the first performance of the Sky Original. The series by David Schalko (48) already impressed the specialist audience in March.

Tom Schilling (39) can be seen in the lead role of the German-Austrian production. In six episodes, according to Sky, the story of a character is told “who struggles with herself and the world and is allowed to shuffle the cards anew in each episode”. Other roles include Mavie Hörbiger (41), Lars Eidinger (45), Katharina Schüttler (41), Martin Wuttke (59) and Sophie Rois (59). The entire season can be seen on Sky Ticket, via Sky Q and Sky Atlantic from July 29th.

The summer special will not only take place on Museum Island, but also in 15 other venues. The award ceremony is scheduled for June 13th. The official jury had already chosen the winners last March. The Golden Bear for the best film goes to “Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn” by the Romanian director Radu Jude (44).
