Biathlon Oeberg victorious in the mass start of Otepaa, Braisaz-Bouchet in the top 10

It’s called a tough race. They were still four to fight for the podium after the last shot, it was the first three places that mattered and it was Elvira Oeberg who flew to victory in the mass-start of Otepaa (Estonia).

The Swede waited for the last lap to attack and break away from her competitors thanks to her solidity on the firing line (19/20). The German Denise Herrmann, author of a good comeback, and the Norwegian Marte Olsbu Roeiseland, leader of the mass-start, completed the podium.

Everything is still possible before the last stage in Oslo next week for the big crystal globe, as well as for the small specialty globe since Dorothea Wierer is still 11 points ahead of the Russian Kristina Reztsova (93 points).

Lou Jeanmonnot wins the big globe of the IBU Cup

In the division below, in the IBU Cup, the big winner of the big crystal globe is Lou Jeanmonnot. With 668 points, the French beat the Norwegian Raghnild Femsteinevik (643 pts) and the Swede Elisabeth Hoegberg (590 pts).

She took the opportunity to take 3rd place in the pursuit of Ridnaun-Val Ridanna (Italy), the last race of the season, won by another Frenchwoman: Caroline Colombo despite her four faults.

Braisaz-Bouchet in the top 10

There was a bit of disappointment for the French even if we believed for a long time in a comeback from Justine Braisaz-Bouchet. The Olympic champion in the specialty, obviously very fit on skis, was playing for the win on the last shot but she was the only one to make a mistake, letting her chances of victory slip away at the same time. With a 17/20, but the best ski time, the Frenchwoman signs a nice top 10 (7th).

For the other Bleues, Chloe Chevalier took 13th place (19/20), Anais Chevalier-Bouchet 17th (16/20), Anais Bescond 23rd (15/20) and Julia Simon was 29th (15/20) visibly diminished by a knee injury.
