Every Wednesday around twelve o’clock there is a huge rush to the Mediaprint canteen in Vienna’s 19th district, which is run by the Eurest company. The reason: Wednesday is schnitzel day, and pork, chicken and turkey schnitzels are served alternately. Employees pay little anyway, but: The company restaurant is also open to external employees – and they also pay little, namely only 6.90 euros for a schnitzel with a side dish and salad. Restaurant manager Thomas Müllner: “We sell the most food on Wednesdays. If you offer a chicken schnitzel with fries, you’ve won – that always works best.”
