Christine Angot’s appearance in Quotidien was more than upsetting this Wednesday March 20, 2024. The 65-year-old writer was the guest of the show presented by Yann Barthès to talk about his documentary film which is released today in dark rooms. Titled “A family“, this story, made of images from personal archives, returns to the story of the incest suffered by the novelist from his father during his youth. He also evokes the denial, the silence shown by some of his loved ones during the majority of his life.
On the set of the TMC show, Christine Angot returned for long minutes to the non-compassion of which she was the victim from many people who crossed her path, some not offering her the listening or help she expected. In 1999, the young woman had even been humiliated on the set of Everybody talks about it by Thierry Ardisson and his lifelong sidekick Laurent Baffie.

Quotidien released several extracts which show the presenter laughs when he mentions passages from the first book by Christine Angot named “Incest“. This auto-fictional book recounted her trauma with details which had, it seems, amused the presenter and the comedian. We also see the writer constantly cut off in her speeches and mocked for the low success of his novel.
The latter had also left the show in the middle feeling too demeaned.
