Bindi Irwin publishes important lines from her diary 15 years after the death of her father Steve Irwin.

Bindi Irwin (23) wrote a diary entry after the death of her father, which she is now in the Podcast “What About Death !?” shared with the public.

After Australian documentary filmmaker and presenter Steve Irwin (1962-2006, “The Crocodile Hunter”) died after being stung by a stingray in his heart, his then eight-year-old daughter immortalized her unusually mature thoughts: “One day – I’ll even have it in wrote my diary – I said to myself: ‘That’s it, I decide not to wallow in mourning anymore.’ “

Writing down her feelings helped her as a little girl to look ahead and get on with her life. Her father’s death was “the hardest” thing that her brother Robert (18) and she had to go through as children, she added.

Same passion as her father

Bindi Irwin is now a conservation activist herself and part of the reality series “Crikey! It’s the Irwins”, which is about the family’s work at the “Australia Zoo” in Queensland.

Bindi married the American wakeboarder Chandler Powell (25) in 2020. A year later, the couple had a daughter who they named Grace Warrior. She was also introduced to the zoo right after the birth, of which her late grandpa was the director.
