The MSC World Europa is a cruise ship belonging to the Swiss company MSC Cruises, a historical customer of BIO-UV Group, with more than ten BIO-SEA ballast water treatment systems on order or in service, particularly on MSC Bellisima ships. , MSC Meraviglia, MSC Grandiosa and MSC Virtuosa from the shipowner.

Built at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, MSC World Europa is the largest European liner on delivery and the 6

largest ocean liner in the world (by tonnage).

The first in a series of four twin liners that will all be built at Chantiers de l’Atlantique and all equipped with BIO-SEA systems, the MSC World Europa inaugurates the new “World Class” series of ships from MSC Cruises.

The MSC World Europa is equipped with five multi-fuel engines (Dual-Fuel), which can run alternatively on marine fuel oil or liquefied natural gas (LNG), the cleanest fuel to date. This innovative new flagship features a fuel cell and incorporates a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment device, as well as a BIO-SEA B series unit for the treatment of ballast water. A second ship, the MSC World America, is already under construction and will be equipped with the same system.

Thanks to many sophisticated technologies to reduce the ship’s impact on the environment, the MSC World Europa is the ship with the lowest CO2 emissions.
