Black Panther: Wakanda Forever returns to the Marvel Universe on November 9, 2022. Ahead of the theatrical run, we had the exclusive chance to chat with some of the film’s stars, including The Walking Dead fan favorite Danai Gurira, who is set to take on the role of Okoye in the MCU.

Since the first “Black Panther” film, she has played the leader of the Dora Milaje, the private guard of the King/Queen of Wakanda. Gurira also reprized the role in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, and now she’s returning to talk about a possible Disney+ spin-off about her Marvel character.

But Danai Gurira doesn’t just have a “long-term role” with Okoye. She also played a long-time fan favorite in The Walking Dead universe, Michonne, and will return in the Rick & Michonne spin-off. She’s excited to share the series with the world. Watch the video interview here:

We end up asking her if the finale of The Walking Dead teases the Rick & Michonne spin-off. However, since the word teaser is mostly used as a synonym for trailer in English, Gurira elaborates that TWD doesn’t have post-credits trailers or anything like that. What was meant, however, was more of a return of the characters, which could reveal what will happen in the spin-off.

Unfortunately, there was not enough time to ask the question again. Also, Gurira gives a little insight into the series, which was to our satisfaction.

At the start of “Black Panther 2” we were not only allowed to talk to Danai Gurira. We were also allowed to conduct exclusive interviews with Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o and Marvel producer Nate Moore. We have linked them here for you:

After “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, the next MCU film awaits us in February 2023: “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”. We list you all Marvel new releases!
