The coronavirus pandemic has finally reached the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU): Disney has announced the postponement of the release of "Black Widow". This is reported, among other things, by the US industry magazine "Variety". The Marvel film with Scarlett Johansson (35) in the leading role should be released in cinemas in Germany on April 30, 2020 and in the United States on May 1 of this year.
The film about Russian spy Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) is supposed to herald the fourth phase of the Marvel universe. Directed by Cate Shortland (51). The film will play as a prequel before the events of "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Endgame". The plot is apparently based on "The First Avenger: Civil War". Disney has not yet announced a new release.
The company had previously announced the postponement of "Mulan", "Lucy In The Sky", "Downhill", "The New Mutants" and "Antlers", and there is no new launch date for these films either. "Mulan" should have started on March 26th. Due to the current situation, other delays in the theatrical release have also been heralded: Among other things, "Fast & Furious 9" will not be released until April 2021 instead of May 2020. "James Bond – No time to die" will not start on April 2, 2020 as originally planned, but on November 12, 2020.
