After Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis, Blake Lively apologizes for a vicious post about the royals’ “Photoshop fail.”

Apparently the American “Gossip Girl” actress Blake Lively (36) is not only good at gossiping, but also at apologizing. After it was announced on Friday (March 22) that Princess Kate (42), the wife of heir to the British throne Prince William (41), was diagnosed with cancer, she felt compelled to make a sincere gesture of regret and apology on Instagram.

Malicious parody of Kate’s “Photoshop Fail”

A few days after Princess Kate publicly returned to Instagram on March 10th for British Mother’s Day after a long absence with a family photo that was obviously manipulated using Photoshop, Lively posted a malicious parody of the much-publicized royal photo mishap on her own channel on March 16th. In the picture she was ostensibly promoting her beverage brand “Betty Buzz”, but used an intentionally poorly manipulated photo in which objects or body parts appeared in unrealistic sizes in several places. Below she wrote with biting irony: “I’m so excited to share my new photo that I just took it today to announce our new drinks.”

Sincere remorse for “stupid post”

After it was announced on March 22nd that Kate had cancer and would undergo preventive chemotherapy, Blake Lively obviously felt remorse and felt compelled to make a meek apology on Instagram that same day. She wrote there according to “Page Six”: “I’m sure no one cares anymore, but I feel like I have to admit it. I made a stupid post about the ‘Photoshop bugs’ fuss, and oh man, this post has “I’m really embarrassed today.” The actress ended her post with the conciliatory words: “I’m sorry. Sending love and good wishes to everyone, always.”

Both posts, the parody and the apology, have now disappeared from Lively’s Instagram account. Since she already had to endure a lot of shitstorm for the first post, Ryan Reynolds’ (47) wife apparently didn’t want to collect any more nasty comments.
