As the video above announces for the first time, “Blonde” on September 23, 2022 to be launched worldwide on Netflix. The film by author and director Andrew Dominik (“The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford”) caused a small scandal in advance, as there was obviously upset between Netflix and the filmmaker.

The stumbling block is said to have been an extremely brutal rape scene. Ultimately, “Blonde” now receives an age rating of 17 in the USA – which is a rarity for a film produced by Netflix itself.

“Blonde”: First pictures of the Netflix biopic about Marilyn Monroe

“Blonde” is based on the novel of the same name by author Joyce Carol Oates and mixes fact and fiction. As leading actress Ana de Armas herself explained, the biopic will now present “a version of Marilyn Monroe’s life through her perspective”, dealing with the discrepancy between public (star) image and private self.

According to Ana de Armas, she worked on the project for a year. In addition to reading the novel, she studied hundreds of photographs, video and audio recordings, and the films of Marilyn Monroe.

Here are the 4 first scenes that Netflix also presented for “Blonde” today:
