Blood deed in Hohenems – autopsy results from Innsbruck are available

Last Thursday, a bloody act in Hohenems in which two people lost their lives shook the whole of Vorarlberg. The autopsy reports are now available. These support the suspicion of murder and suicide.

According to the current survey, it is likely that the 47-year-old attacked the woman with a knife and then committed suicide. The woman was found lying on the street around 10:40 a.m. with severe stab wounds and cuts. Passers-by who came to her aid initially believed it was a serious traffic accident. In the adjacent apartment building, the childless couple lived in a shared apartment, from which the woman may have tried to escape. According to the police, there were no reports of domestic violence. The 47-year-old man had locked himself in the apartment and the door was opened by the Cobra task force. He also had severe stab wounds. Both were taken to the Feldkirch regional hospital and operated on, but died from their injuries.
