BMW: battery assembly plant project in Thailand


(CercleFinance.com) – BMW announced on Monday that it had launched the construction of a high-voltage battery production plant in Rayong, a seaside city located in the southeast of Thailand.

The German automobile group indicates that this project – with an area of ​​4,000 m2 – must be the subject of an investment of 42 million euros, of which 36 million will be allocated to the purchase of equipment and materials of the latest generation.

With the launch of this new site, BMW says it is preparing for local production of a new battery electric vehicle (BEV) model by the end of 2025.
