Body positivity: why a summer body is total nonsense

Bikini figure in just three steps? Clothes off, bikini on and off in the sun! Simple, or not?

The most relaxed phase of the year has started. Christmas stress, on the other hand, is a wellness holiday. We're talking about summer season stress. The moment when there is only one thing left to read: "Last minute bikini figure in just two weeks" or "7 tips for the perfect summer body". Grrr!

On your marks, get set, go! Buy detox tea, get out of the gym contract (am I still a member?) And painfully bequeath the chocolate supply to the nice neighboring kids. All just to notice just before summer vacation, but not to look like Heidi Klum. Surprise!

Why all the stress?

Isn't the concept of a bikini figure out of date? It seems so. Because body positivity, self-love and body diversity are no longer foreign words to us, but trend terms that compete with the terms "summer body" and "beach figure". But the process is slow, rethinking takes time and even if the idea of self-love is quite nice, we are still ashamed of the bacon roll that protrudes above the bikini band and the dents on the thigh.

We have to make one thing clear

The whole delusion of body and beauty is a social concept. And Through this concept, millions flow into the coffers of the beauty and diet industry every year, which advertise with products that "now" really let the pounds drop. But a bikini figure shouldn't be tied to a certain size or weight. You should make yourself clear again that a bikini body, well, is simply a body in a bikini – and you can feel comfortable in it. #Bodypositivity

But one more thing about self-love: Of course there are often days when we don't find ourselves beautiful. You can't crush yourself in your reflection every day. Self-love and body positivity are extremely important – but having to feel good in your skin every day is also utopian and puts pressure on you.

The fact is: Taking the pressure out helps a lot. Just let the air out (and relax your stomach instead of constantly moving in). Take the whole body with more humor and serenity. Because let's say one thing, women in size 34 aren't much happier in bikini either. Sad but true. And in "2 weeks to the biggest loafers at the pool edge" is the much nicer challenge.
