Bouygues Telecom customers deprived of internet connection for several hours due to a breakdown


The operator admitted that its Bbox service had encountered difficulties on Friday, depriving its customers, mainly in the south of Île-de-France, of internet and 4G.

Some Ile-de-France residents, Bouygues Telecom customers, were cut off from the internet on Friday. A phenomenon that has affected users of the Bbox service, particularly in the south of Île-de-France, as the operator has acknowledged.

“You may be having difficulty using your Bbox services mainly in the south of Île-de-France. We are doing everything we can to restore the situation as soon as possible. Some services have been gradually returning since 5 p.m. Thank you”admitted Bouygues Telecom on Twitter.

More internet access

Numerous reports of breakdowns have indeed been recorded by the Downdetector site since the beginning of the afternoon, with a peak around 4 p.m. They mainly concerned internet connection and 4G access problems and were located in Paris and its suburbs but also in other major cities in France such as Lyon, Marseille, Aix-en-Provence and Toulon. However, the number of reports tended to decrease from 7:30 p.m. Bouygues Telecom said shortly before 9 p.m. that the incident was resolved, apologizing for the inconvenience caused.

On Twitter, some users of Bouygues Telecom services also regretted not being able to access assistance or customer service from the operator.
