Bowl of shrimp with leeks, the recipe for a light dinner while having fun: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

In fondue, in a quiche, with tagliatelle, in a broth, or even in a salad, leeks can be eaten in a thousand ways. On her Instagram account, culinary influencer Gwendoline Boudot suggests slipping them into a delicious bowl with shrimp, crushed cashews and a little parsley. This delicious meal promises to be healthy, easy to make, and very enjoyable at the same time. You can accompany it with the base you want. Here, the culinary influencer puts rice.

How to make the shrimp and leek bowl?

The proposed recipe is for 3 people. Start by slicing a leek. Brown it with a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat in a pan. Reserve them. Drain the 300 g of fresh shrimp that you have previously purchased from your fishmonger. Cook them, still in the pan, with “a little olive oil”, 1 tbsp. teaspoon of paprika, 1 tbsp. of cumin, and 1 tbsp. teaspoon of balsamic vinegar. When it is cooked, that is to say when the shrimp are no longer translucent, set aside. Cook 230 g of rice. Brown cashew nuts, “without making them burn too much”, advises the influencer, in a stove, without fat. Once it’s ready, mix everything in a bowl, and serve!

Which base to choose for a bowl?

For a balanced and delicious bowl, you have several basic options to choose from depending on your preferences. Rice is a versatile base that pairs well with a wide variety of ingredients. You can opt for rice white, brown rice, basmati rice, black rice, or even wild rice for a different texture and taste. For those looking for a gluten-free, protein-rich base, with its slightly crunchy texture and subtle nutty flavor, quinoa is a great option. THE rice or soba noodles are ideal for bowls inspired by Asian cuisine. They are light, easy to prepare and pair well with flavors like ginger, soy sauce and sesame. If you prefer a lighter and refreshing option, you can use fsalad leaves as a base for your bowl. Opt for varieties like romaine lettuce, arugula, spinach, or kale. THE short pasta like penne, farfalle or fusilli can also be used as a base for a bowl. You can choose whole wheat pasta for more fiber and nutrients.
