Boy George caused a stir when he arrived in the British jungle camp. In a lion mask he wants to become the “Lion Queen”.

Cult singer Boy George (61), a superstar of the 1980s, has always been known for his eccentric performances. After being confirmed as a participant in the British version of the RTL jungle camp earlier this month, the star has now landed in Australia for the production of the show. On his arrival at Brisbane Airport George wore a funny lion mask, as pictures at “The Sun” show. In regards to his appearance on “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” he explained: “I’m here to play a version of the Lion Queen.”

Will Boy George eat insects in the jungle camp?

When asked if he’d wear his whimsical lion mask at camp, George replied, “I hope so.” The singer, who once became successful with the band Culture Club, is known as a vegan. It was therefore repeatedly speculated whether he would eat insects and other animals during jungle tests. George didn’t want to answer that when he first arrived. However, he emphasized that he would love “all creatures”.

George is the star contestant of the upcoming installment of trash TV show ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’. For his appearance in the Australian bush he is said to collect the fabulous sum of more than one million euros, as “Daily Mail” reported. For the first time in three years, the ITV show returns to Australia in the wake of the pandemic. The 61-year-old George is still in quarantine before the start of the show.

In addition to the singer, Mike Tindall (44), husband of Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall (41), will also be the first Royal this year to participate in the British version of “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!” take part. The new season premieres on the channel on Sunday 6 November, according to ITV.
