Brad Pitt and Maddox: have father and son been out of touch since 2016?

Brad Pitt and his eldest son Maddox are said to have split up in 2016 – and have had no contact to date.

The divorce proceedings between Angelina Jolie (45, "Maleficent") and Brad Pitt (56, "Troy") are protracted due to the corona pandemic. The trigger for the separation of the former Hollywood couple is said to have been a dispute between Pitt and the oldest son Maddox (18) on a flight from France to Los Angeles in September 2016. An alleged insider has now revealed in the latest issue of the US magazine "Us Weekly" that there is still no contact between the two. A relationship between father and son is said to remain "non-existent". Pitt should also have no contact with son Pax (16).

After two years of marriage, the separation followed

The US magazine "People" recently reported that a family therapist helped Jolie and Pitt approach each other. The younger children are said to switch back and forth between their homes, "and Brad loves spending as much time with them as possible. He seems a lot happier," People quoted an insider. An agreement has already been reached on custody of the six children together, in addition to Maddox and Pax, Zahara (15), Shiloh (14) and the twins Knox and Vivienne (12). Jolie adopted Maddox, who is now studying biochemistry in Seoul, and Zahara before their relationship with Pitt, the actor finally adopted the two in 2006.

Pitt and Jolie said yes in 2014 in France, followed two years later. Overall, the two were a couple for about twelve years. Jolie allegedly stated "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce in September 2016. Jolie was "very, very upset" about the alleged incident between Pitt and Maddox, journalist and author Ian Halperin told the British "Mail on Sunday" in 2017.
