“Branken Gschicht” – 19-year-old became a serial burglar while intoxicated

On the morning of Christmas Day, the police in Dornbirn arrested a burglar. However, it didn’t require a lot of criminal intelligence; the would-be crook wasn’t particularly clever.

An attempted break-in was reported to the city police around 6 a.m. A manhunt was immediately launched and several patrols were involved. Within minutes, more burglary reports came in, and in the end there were seven crime scenes – so the perpetrator obviously didn’t act particularly inconspicuously. Shortly after 8 a.m., the officers were finally able to stop a young man who matched the description. Shortly afterwards, witnesses and residents positively identified him as the person they were looking for. It is a 19-year-old Austrian who lives in Feldkirch. His “robbery” probably falls into the category of “drunk gang”: With a blood alcohol level of around 1.3 per mille, he tried to break into a total of six apartments. In addition to various property damage, the drunk also stole some items and license plates from cars that were parked in front of the properties. During the body search, the police also seized 2.5 grams of cannabis herb.
