A group of friends had a boozy party on Saturday afternoon in Jaboatao dos Guararapes, Brazil. Marcelo S. * († 51) had already had a few drinks when he went to pee in the sea.
He overlooked the warning signs that there was a shark danger on the stretch of beach or did not take them seriously. Then while doing his business he was suddenly attacked by a shark. The beast bit off one hand and part of his leg.
Friends pulled the motionless body of Marcelo S. ashore. Any help came too late for the man. The Brazilian was pronounced dead in the hospital, how Brazilian media to report.

No toilets available
There had already been numerous shark attacks on the beach section in question. Signs everywhere indicate the danger.
According to a friend who was in the sea with S. at the time of the attack and who survived the attack unharmed, there are no toilets on the beach. The two were not warned of the danger by the lifeguard positioned on the beach.
Shark attacks happen more often at this time of year. The reason for this is that the weather is rainy – the actually shy sharks often mistake bathers for their natural prey in the murky water. (noo)
