BRI: a season 2 made official by Canal+

During its back-to-school conference, Canal+ announced that the police series “BRI”, which had created the event during its broadcast last spring, would be back for a season 2.

Launched on April 24, BRI, the new thriller from Canal+, very quickly succeeded in creating a stir. The fiction signed by Jérémie Guez (The Night has devoured the world) and Erwan Augoyard (Gears) has indeed recorded the best audience for an original creation for 4 years, by accumulating more than 12 million views since its launch, according to a press release release of the encrypted channel.

Composed of 8 episodes, BRI follows the adventures of the BRI of Versailles, a historical unit specializing in organized crime. Saïd (Sofian Khammes) takes the lead of a team made up of young elite cops, as reckless as they are efficient.

The former member of the special forces replaces Patrick (Bruno Todeschini), charismatic leader who built his police legend by collaborating for 20 years with Éric, leader of a Parisian underworld clan. Saïd will have to find his place within his group while preventing a gang war from breaking out between Éric’s family and that of the El Hassani brothers.

A season 2 ordered

On May 15, during the broadcast of BRI’s explosive finale, Canal+ was unable to communicate on the future of the series, even if the channel had confided that the artistic team was already working on a second season.

When promoting the series, Jérémie Guez had told our colleagues from France Info that he hoped to do a second season, but that he was waiting for the approval of Canal +. “In any case, I would like very much and I still have things to say…”.

And faced with the success of the series, the channel did not want to make the suspense last any longer. It was during its presentation conference for its future programs, which was held on Monday June 26, that Canal+ confirmed that BRI would be back for a season 2.

For the moment, no information has been communicated on the synopsis or the cast of this new burst of episodes, but there is a good chance that the actors of the first season will be present.

A year full of original creations

In addition to the announcement of season 2 of BRI, Canal+ took advantage of the press conference to announce that the historic series Marie-Antoinette would be back for a second burst of episodes.

The channel also unveiled the first images of D’argent et de sang, a breathtaking thriller by Xavier Giannoli (Illusions Perdues) with Vincent Lindon, Ramzy Bedia and Niels Schneider, on one of the biggest scams made in France.

Kad Merad and Olivier Baroux also put on the costumes of Bullit and Riper in the first trailer for Pamela Rose, the series.

Canal+ also announced La Fièvre, which marks the return of Baron Noir’s team, as well as Mister Spade with Clive Owen and season 3 of Narvalo. Anne Langlois, the creator of Engrenages, announced for her part 66-5, a legal series taking place in the court of Bobigny which will be carried by Alice Isaaz.

Jamel Debbouze also came to present his new series project, which will be a sitcom shot in public with an airport as a backdrop, entitled Terminal. “All I can tell you is that we’re going to laugh!” he announced.
