The Netflix series “Bridgerton” returns to the streaming service in spring 2022 with season 2. As we already know, the Kardashian family served as inspiration for the drama series. But Princess Diana also had an influence on her, or rather her parents’ house.
In a December 2020 tweet, showrunner Chris Van Dusen wrote, “The interior of the Bridgerton home was inspired by my visit to Althorp when I was developing the show. Elegance. Opulence. And that stairwell.”
Althorp House is a country estate with a large manor house in Northamptonshire, England. It has been in the Spencer family since 1508.
In September of this year, Diana’s younger brother, Charles Spencer, responded to Van Dusen’s tweet. He wrote: “I’ve only just seen it – such a compliment to the members of my family who have gone before me and made Althorp House what it is today.”
Season 2 of “Bridgerton” will be released on Netflix on March 25, 2022. In it, Anthony Bridgerton is looking for a woman and finds love in Kate Sharma. We also reveal why Anthony and Siena never had a chance.
