(Boursier.com) — The global communications operator Bouygues Telecom chose Broadpeakpublisher of software solutions dedicated to video streaming, to deploy Multicast-ABR technology to rationalize the impact of its streams on the network while ensuring optimal quality of video experience.
The consumption of streaming video content continues to grow, resulting in a significant increase in the volumes of data transported via operator networks. To cope with this evolution of uses, Bouygues Telecom called on Broadpeak and its nanoCDN Multicast-ABR technology allowing a reduction of more than 90% in traffic compared to content broadcast in Unicast, while guaranteeing quality of optimal experience.

Aimed at Bouygues Telecom’s BBox Smart TV customers, Multicast-ABR technology will be gradually deployed to the entire Bbox Smart TV fleet. In particular, this functionality will be active by early 2024 on more than 30 channels with a high audience…

“After Orange and DAZN in Spain in September, Broadpeak announced that it had been selected by Bouygues Telecom for its disruptive technology, Multicast-ABR” comments Portzamparc, who emphasizes that “the group has a string of commercial successes with Multicast-ABR, the technology presented as central in the development during the IPO”. The analyst is targeting a price of 6.60 euros while remaining a purchase on the file. The title is pointing at 3 euros this Friday, down 1%.
