Bruce Willis: He touts Die Hard Battery as John McClane

For an entertaining and extremely elaborate car battery commercial, Bruce Willis once again makes "Die Hard" hero John McClane.

Bruce Willis (65) aka John McClane slowly dies again for exactly two minutes. But not on the screen, but for a spot for the car battery brand "DieHard" (the original English title of the "Die Hard" series). The lavishly produced advertising clip is not only bursting with references to the action blockbusters, but also comes up with a few cameo appearances from the tough cops' tough opponents and old allies.

"Well, you wanted a quiet life, John. Dead battery, empty streets," Willis mumbles to himself at the beginning of the commercial as he heads to the nearest parts store. But on the way there he spots an old, meanwhile equally bald opponent – hacker Theo (Clarence Gilyard junior, 64), who made life difficult for him in the first "Die Hard" part in Nakatomi Plaza.

Back in the ventilation shaft

Shortly afterwards, he is being pursued by a group of mercenaries and falls, covered in blood, through the window of the shop, where he promptly grabs a car battery and – how could it be otherwise – piles over the ventilation shaft. To make matters worse, he is then cleared away by a limousine, at the wheel of which there is also an old confidante: De'voreaux White (55), who drove Willis around 32 years ago as an Argyle by limo.

Of course, in the grand finale of the commercial, Willis' car then starts up with a spare battery riddled with bullets, and the enemies die in a huge explosion. "Yippie Yah Yay", Argyle then comes over, before McClane gives him a "Hey, that's my line!" drives into the parade.

What about a real sixth part?

Without question, after a mixed fourth and fifth part of the "Die Hard" series, the advertising makes you want to return to the almost immortal one-man army. In fact, a new part directed by Len Wiseman (47, "Underworld") is said to be in the making and show old John McClane and his beginnings as a simple patrolman. More than this and once more Bruce Willis in the aged leading role is not yet known about the planned film.
