Pirelli’s cult calendar took a Corona break in 2021, and it will be back in 2022. Bryan Adams will snap the photos.

The Pirelli calendar will be back next year after its Corona break in 2021 – photographed by Bryan Adams (61). The company has now announced that. Adams also said on Twitter: “I am proud to finally announce that I am the photographer for the Pirelli 2022 calendar.” The combination of photography and music is very exciting, there will be some extraordinary people to see, he also explains in a press release. “The recordings will start in a couple of weeks. I’m excited,” says the Canadian artist.

The musician has been pursuing his passion behind the camera for years. He has already had celebrities such as Amy Winehouse (1983-2011), Mick Jagger (77) and even Queen Elizabeth II (95) in front of the lens. His pictures have been published in magazines such as “Vogue”, “GQ” and “Harper’s Bazaar”. Adams also brought out some books with his work.

The Pirelli calendar, also known as “The Cal”, has been published since 1964 and is considered a collector’s item. Pirelli hires great photographers year after year: Helmut Newton, Karl Lagerfeld, Peter Lindbergh and Annie Leibovitz have already been behind the camera for the calendar. In 2021 there was no new Pirelli calendar due to the corona pandemic. Instead, the tire manufacturer donated 100,000 euros for virus research.
