How about a visit to the Buckingham Palace garden? Unfortunately, many agree that the trip is not worth it.

Far too expensive tickets, aggressive security guards and dirty toilets: All this and more are criticized by numerous Internet users who had secured a ticket for the garden of Buckingham Palace. Before that, a “unique opportunity for a picnic on the lawn with a view of the palace” and “the tranquility of a secluded oasis” was set in the middle promised by London. Numerous visitors complain on the Internet, including for example at “Tripadvisor”, but about what is offered. Queen Elizabeth II (95) is likely to be “not amused”.

The offer initially seemed to be a complete success. According to a report in The Sunday Times After the announcement that the gardens would be open to visitors for the first time, up to 6,000 people were in a virtual queue on the palace’s website. Due to “overwhelming” demand, the offer was therefore temporarily discontinued. But for some, the visit was ultimately a disappointment.

“The cost of entering the gardens is a total rip off”

A ticket for an adult costs the equivalent of almost 20 euros, and 10.50 euros for children between the ages of five and 16. A family with up to three children can save and get entry for just under 50 euros. This price is far too high for some. “The cost of access to the gardens are a total rip-off,” writes one user and advises that you shouldn’t waste your time. He’s seen nicer private gardens.

Another user writes of “a total waste of money”. He had spent 50 pounds in order to be able to eat meals brought along with his family in a “small, uninteresting, cordoned-off area”. The security men also appeared “very aggressive”. In addition, there is not much to see and visitors are not allowed to roam freely, but rather treated like a flock of sheep.

Another user complains about dirty toilets and describes the offer as a pure source of money for the royals. Other users write of long waiting times at the entrance, a lack of variety of colorful flowers and that large areas of the gardens are cordoned off. Many generally agree that their visit was “disappointing”.
