Bundesliga: Pay channel Sky continues to show most games

So that's it: The German Football League (DFL) has granted Bundesliga rights from the 2021/2022 season to 2024/2025. If you want to enjoy most live games, you still need two subscriptions.

Sky has the most games on offer

Most games in the 1st Bundesliga continue to show Sky. The pay TV channel broadcasts 200 individual games live on Saturdays per season – this applies to the games at 3.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. In addition, there are all games during the English weeks, the relegation to the 1st league and the game for the Supercup. The streaming service DAZN was able to expand its offer. Instead of the 40 first division matches, he now shows 106 live – on Friday and Sunday. So if you want to see all the games, you still need two subscriptions.

Sat.1 shows encounters on free TV again

A total of nine games per season will be shown on free TV. Sat.1 has secured the rights to the transmission with its "ran" format. This means that the private broadcaster is once again getting into the Bundesliga coverage. In addition to the start and the Supercup, the games before and after the winter break as well as the start of the 2nd Bundesliga and the relegation games for the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga will be shown. The live encounters will be shown in Sat.1 as well as in parallel on ran.de, sat1.de, in the ran and Sat.1 apps and in the livestream on Joyn.

2. Bundesliga at Sky and Sport1

Sky will broadcast the entire 2nd Bundesliga: all 306 individual games, including 272 exclusively. What is new is that in addition to the games on Sat.1, there will be even more encounters on free TV. The broadcaster Sport1 secured the rights to the nine Saturday evening games (8.30 p.m.), which will be introduced from 2021. A total of 33 games are shown.

"Sports Show" shows summaries

In terms of summaries, ARD remains the DFL's most important partner. The licenses acquired by the ARD include the "sports show" with the Bundesliga on Saturday (6.30pm – 3.00pm), the exploitation of all games of the weekend on Sunday evening (9.15pm – midnight) and new coverage of the games of the 2nd Bundesliga on Friday evening (10.30pm-midnight) and on Sunday between 6.45pm and 9.15pm.
