But no defender – “removal torpedo” sunk Altach’s ambitions

The search for a central defender ended for the Rheindörfler “seconds before the finish line”. An unexpected compensation payment prevented the almost certain Polish newcomer. Csaba Bukta had some more positive news, his injury break could be shorter than expected.

A central defender who last played in the Polish first division should move to Altach. Yesterday, the Rheindörfler wanted to announce the new signing. But: “Ten seconds before the finish line, his previous club suddenly demanded a fee, contrary to the information we received from the player’s agent. We were already in agreement with the kicker,” says Altach’s sports director Roland Kirchler. After the appearance of the Polish “transfer torpedo”, negotiations continued, but the optimism of the Ländle Bundesliga team quickly gave way to the realization that the transfer would probably not work out. The injured Csaba Bukta was given the all-clear. The investigations showed that the ligaments of the Hungarian, whose kneecap had jumped out during training, remained intact.
