Four days before hosting Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final first leg of the Champions League, Borussia Dortmund suffered a heavy defeat at RB Leipzig (4-1). The yellow and black, whose presence in the top 4 of the Bundesliga at the end of the season is not guaranteed, have paid dearly for their defensive mistakes.
Borussia Dortmund did not prepare in the best way for their Champions League semi-final against PSG. The yellow and black, who will host the Parisians on Wednesday evening in their lair of Signal Iduna Park, were swept away this Saturday afternoon on the Leipzig lawn (4-1) during the 31st day of the Bundesliga, and now have five points behind in the ranking on their opponent of the day. To play in the C1 next season, Edin Terzić’s men will probably have to go through the additional ticket offered to one of the two best countries in the 2023/2024 European season.

Defensive errors
Dominant at the start of the match, Borussia logically opened the scoring in Leipzig with a sumptuous curling shot from Jadon Sancho’s right foot at the edge of the area. But the BVB fell back into their ways, multiplying defensive errors, which are not reassuring four days before the clash against Paris.
Starting on the edge of offside, Xavi Simons ideally served from the outside of the right foot to Lois Openda, who scored his 24th goal in the Bundesliga and equalized. Just before and just after the break, Leipzig broke through Dortmund’s defense through Benjamin Sesko and Mohamed Simakan. Christoph Baumgartner added to the bill at the end of the match.
