You may soon be able to get the PS5 more easily on Amazon.
Amazon is offering a new way to buy the PS5 in the US. Rare or coveted products should be available by invitation in the future. The Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 are the first products to be marketed in this way by the internet giant. The aim is to counter resellers and make it easier for real customers to buy.
All users can register for an invitation in the app. A Prime membership is not required for this. According to TechCrunch, Amazon then carries out a “background check”. The previous purchasing behavior and the age of the registered user account are important here.
When this hurdle is cleared, you will be notified by email as soon as a console is available for you. This can still be associated with waiting time, but this way you avoid the rush. However, the concept is not new. Sony also distributes its console via PlayStation Direct by invitation.
