Caedrel returns to EXCEL after a year-long hiatus, but as a content creator

It’s been a little over a year now, in November 2021, that Marc Robert “Caedrel” Lamont had decided to take a break from his career as a professional player on League of Legends. The Briton, who was already present at EXCEL before taking this decision, returned to the organization, signing a new contract as content creator.

EXCEL is the place where I started my professional career and I feel like the time I spent there will always resonate with the community, so I’m really excited to be back. I will continue as an LEC commentatormy role at EXCEL being a separate activity where I can explore my passion for streaming and creating content.

After leaving his position as a player, he nevertheless did not deviate from esports, taking advantage of this break to improve his skills as a commentator and analyst on the Riot Games game. Since the Worlds of 2020, we have often found it on the “On Air Talent” set and at the start of the 2021 season, he joined the Casters Crew of the LEChaving quickly raised him in the esteem of the European community, thus becoming one of the LEC’s favorite casters. Her first season of casting turned out to be a great success.

However, approaching the 2022 season and the off-season transfer window, many teams coveted the player in order to integrate him into their rosters. Among the teams concerned, we find big names, such as SK Gaming, TSM, Vitality, Team BDS or G2 Esports. Caedrel has automatically refused all offers from North American teams, was not yet ready to move, he says. It was on his Twitter account afterwards that he put an end to the hopes of these different structures, announcing that for 2022 he was not done with the cast and would not be returning as a player to the League of Legends stage. According to him, a single year in this environment is not enough for him, especially since he has never experienced the joys of live casting in front of a crowd.

Heading into the 2022 season, however, Caedrel was unsure if he would return to his commentary duties with the LEC but after a few days of waiting, Riot has revealed the list of official casters of the competition for this season in which we find the British player, as Color Caster. Also, he is back at Excel but this time as content creator, to make streams but also content for YouTube. Its mission is to strengthen structure content creationwhether on the various platforms intended for it and on social networks.
