According to information from Europe 1, Gérald Darmanin has canceled an activist weekend in the North with the Renaissance party in order to stay in Paris for the demonstration against the high cost of living this Sunday.
The shortage of fuel worries even the highest echelons of the State. Within the executive, no one underestimates the magnitude of the movement and everyone is vigilant. According to our information, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin has thus canceled an activist weekend in the North with the Renaissance party in order to stay in Paris in view of the demonstration against the high cost of living on Sunday October 16 organized by the NUPES.
“The government takes its responsibilities”
The Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, was traveling on Friday October 14 in Agen. She wanted to reassure about her involvement in the case: “many French people are suffering from the current blockages which threaten their daily lives and their work. We are with them and we will be with them until the end. The government takes its responsibilities and does everything implemented so that the social dialogue takes place and leads to the settlement of the conflict”.
The government fears the birth of a global protest movement like that of the yellow vests four years ago. The executive is walking on embers, because it is in this tense social climate that it will use, from the beginning of next week in the Assembly, 49.3, in order to vote on the law on the 2023 budget.
