Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will officially be released on November 10th for various platforms. The game offers a variety of different weapons as well as new “aftermarket parts” that are intended to expand the customizability of the weapons.

In order to unlock the various weapons in the game, you first have to complete so-called “Armory Unlocks” tasks. However, Reddit user TripOk863 shared a tip on how you can apparently avoid these tasks.

“Armory Unlocks” explained

“Armory Unlocks” are a new feature available at rank 25. This allows you to unlock special weapons and items by completing daily challenges.

To get a new weapon, you have to complete three of these challenges, which take different amounts of time depending on the difficulty. However, if you don’t want to invest that much time, you can use the new zombie mode to your advantage.

Exploit zombie mode

In Modern Warfare 3, Zombie Mode works similarly to an extraction shooter. You complete various challenges and collect loot, which you can use again in another run if the extraction is successful.

You can apparently exploit this system to unlock new weapons. If you find a weapon you want in zombie mode and extract it, it should then be permanently unlocked without completing the respective “Armory Unlocks”.

According to TripOk863, this method can also be applied to other items. Equipment items such as the “Stim Pack” can presumably also be unlocked by successfully extracting them.

Feedback from the development studio

So far there is no official statement from the development studio. However, since this method of unlocking weapons was already present in Modern Warfare 2’s DMZ mode, it is assumed that this is a planned feature and not a bug.

If you have already unlocked all the weapons or are not a fan of zombie mode, there are numerous other game modes available to you in the new shooter. You can also explore the new campaign, which, however, will have even less playing time than previously assumed.
