Call of Duty Warzone is back under a new name, Warzone: Caldera

Even with 25 million players in a few days, the arrival of Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 did not however sound the death knell of the first Warzonecontrary to what Blizzard was able to do with the license Overwatch. To ensure the proper launch of the second part, Activision preferred to put Warzone aside for a few days, while carefully preparing for his return. It didn’t take long for free-to-play to resurface, and with a new name as a bonus.

The beginning of the end for the first Warzone

Say goodbye to Warzoneand hello to Warzone: Caldera. The game has been stripped of a lot of content in order to leave the field open to Warzone 2.0which means thatit is no longer necessary to count on the addition of new features or temporary modes. Only the Caldera map remains available from now on, and you can no longer buy in-game content in the various stores, even if you can transfer your COD points.

We must now understand that Warzone: Caldera is a separate experience from the rest of the license, which will be kept alive for a while to give you time to gradually move on Warzone 2.0. We don’t know yet how long it will last, but at least you don’t lose your progress overnight, which is already a win.
