can you touch it? Take the test with this simulator

Only 30% of potential beneficiaries have requested the fuel bonus of 100 euros since the opening of the online platform. A very easy-to-use simulator has just been posted on the tax website.

To encourage the French to apply for the fuel bonus, the government has put online on impts.gouv an eligibility simulator. Before carrying out the simulation, bring your tax notice established in 2022 on the income of 2021, warns the platform.

Then follow the guide. You have to answer 5 questions:

  • Do you use a vehicle for business purposes (including commuting)?
  • Are you established in mainland France, Mayotte, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique or Reunion and domiciled in France for tax purposes?
  • Were you at least 16 years old on December 31, 2021?
  • Have you declared earned income for 2021?
  • Are you liable for real estate wealth tax (IFI) for 2021?

For simplicity, you are asked to be able to answer yes each answer, except the last one since those liable for wealth tax for 2021 are not eligible for payment of the compensation.

If everything is going well, you You will then need to enter your reference tax income and wait for the verdict. The aid of 100 euros, paid once per individual and per vehicle, concerns households located in the first five deciles of income, i.e. an RFR of less than 14,700 euros in 2021 for each tax share of your household.

Either you can take advantage of it and you are directed to the application form (see box below), or this sentence appears which ends the simulation: Given the information entered, you do not meet the conditions to be able to benefit from the fuel allowance.

How to apply for the aid of 100 euros?

To apply for this aid, which has replaced the direct reduction at the pump, you must complete a form put online on the tax website. This is the only official site to apply. The General Directorate of Public Finances warns individuals about an ongoing fraudulent SMS campaign on the fuel allowance

To claim the fuel allowance on impots.gouv.fr, you will need your tax number and license plate number of the vehicle being driven. It will then be necessary complete a self-declaration indicating that you need your car to go to work.

The 100 euros will then be paid by the General Directorate of Public Finances (DGFiP) to the bank account within 8 days, and from January 27 for the first files processed by the tax services.

First transfers and price increase

At the start of the week, when the first transfers were to be credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, the government stressed that only 3million people out of a potential 10million claimed the fuel bonus of 100 euros. The application deadline has been set for February 28.

There is therefore still time to take advantage of it, especially as fuel prices are rising and approaching the bar of 2 euros per liter. According to government figures released on Monday, diesel sold last week at an average price of 1.9162 euro per litre, 95 unleaded petrol increased by 4.36 cents, for a displayed price of 1.9008 euro on average, and the SP95-E10 was up 3.83 cents, selling a national average price of 1.8748 euro the liter.
