Capcom reveals its plan to replace the Capcom Cup in Street Fighter V

The Capcom Cup had been canceled in January 2022, due to the spread of the Omicron variant. Capcom had, however, announced that they would hold an online eventthus replacing this competition on Street Fighter 5.

This final event of 2021, which replaces the Capcom Cup, will begin first with a North American showmatch between two teams of 5 players, each of whom will have as captain the presenters, and competitors, of the show No Neutral, RobTV and Brian_F, who are also very gifted joysticks in their hands. Alongside them, we will also find Punk, SMUG, Shine, iDom, Nephew, ChrisCCH, NYCFurby and Justakid. However, the composition of these two teams is still not known at this time.

The United States, however, will not be not the only ones with showmatches. Capcom has decided to replace the Capcom Cup during this final event of the 2021 season, to organize showmatches around the world between players who qualified for the original event. The original Capcom Cup cash prize has also been re-split so that each match will bring $5,000 to the winner.

French people will represent the tricolor colors during a showmatch, since Mister Crimson and his former AS Monaco teammate, Kilzyou, will compete. This reserves a magnificent match between these two players of excellent level, to the detriment Portuguese and Spanish players, whom they eliminated to qualify.
