A complete holiday wardrobe made up of just six pieces? This works out! “Capsule Wardrobe” is the name of the principle, with which you shop more consciously and less and thus also save space in your suitcase. With which parts are you guaranteed to be well dressed for two weeks? We tell.

Sustainable, minimalistic and stylish at the same time: the principle of the capsule Wardrobe is no longer alien to most. With a small number of parts in the wardrobe, a wardrobe is created that includes everything you need. In the summer of 2023, too, the mix and match principle will be more in demand than ever before – until the big summer vacation. Suddenly it’s no longer so easy to limit yourself to just a few items in the suitcase. We want to do a lot of outfits during the long-awaited break! A solution or a clever tip as to which parts are really important is needed. We say: With these six pieces you can create many cool outfits without stuffing your suitcase unnecessarily full.

Capsule Wardrobe: You need these 6 pieces in your holiday wardrobe

Class instead of mass is now the motto, but luckily, especially in summer, pieces from the wardrobe can be wonderfully used for various occasions. These are the best examples…

1. Swimsuit

Jumping into the pool or the cool sea is part of a successful holiday for most people. But you can also wear your swimsuit beyond the hours at the pool. The timeless swimsuit can be converted into a body with the right underwear 1A and can also be worn in no time on a stroll through the nearest fishing village and the like. For a purist look, combine the swimsuit – we love classic black or trendy Barbie pink – with reduced bottoms such as beige linen pants. If you want to transport the beach look into everyday life, you can rely on denim shorts and flip-flops.

2. Linen shorts

Speaking of which, linen pieces are some of our favorite summer travel essentials. Why? They are super comfortable and are particularly suitable for warm temperatures. Because the natural composition of the material enables high air circulation and breathability, which keeps us cool even at 33 degrees. An additional plus point: If you don’t spill, you can definitely wear the linen shorts for a few days in a row, because sweat – and its unpleasant smell – is less likely to get trapped in the material. What more do you want?!

3. Oversized blouse

Oversized blouses in soft rose, baby blue or white are not only a stylish eye-catcher on the next trip, but also convince with one more thing: they protect against the sun and still let air into the skin. Not to mention the many styling options! The blouse can be buttoned up as a sophisticated one-shoulder top or casually knotted together from the navel. If you just want to throw something on at the beach, a model made of cotton or linen is also a good choice. Our tip: the more straightforward and classic the design, the easier it is to create a cool style – even for two weeks.

4. Midi Dress

The motto of the holiday season: Without summer dresses, without us! In the coming weeks we will literally be living in light, airy clothes and would prefer never to take them off again, even on vacation. But so that you can really wear it there every day, you need a few tricks! It’s best to choose neutral colors, because the holiday capsule wardrobe works best when all the clothes are easy to mix and match. Wrinkle-free fabrics such as silk are also a real bringer and protect your nerves between a walk on the beach and dinner.

5. Sandals

When deciding what shoes to wear for your next vacation, packing at home is probably where the most trouble comes in. Should it be flip flops for the beach, espadrilles at the hotel bar and a pair of sneakers for the walk through the holiday resort would also be nice? We know that only too well. According to the Capsule Wardrobe motto, however, a pair of sandals should always go into the suitcase. They offer comfort, versatility and an airy alternative to closed shoes. The ultimate in the hot season. Especially with different styling components such as a dress, swimsuit or a short linen set, this shoe looks different from day to day and becomes the centerpiece of every look.

6. Basket bag

Whether as a beach bag, for a chic lunch with friends or as a perfect break in style with the “Summer in the City” look: basket bags are the perfect companions for the holiday. Models made of straw, raffia or raffia are real classics, make every outfit appear summerier right away and are also real space savers. Do you want to go straight from the beach to the nearest bar to sip a glowing Aperol Spitz as a cool downer? No problem, a few more towels or a change of shoes fit into the large bast bag without being seen.
