Catherine, Princess of Wales, broke out of her royal comfort zone a few days ago and attended a music festival without Prince William. But it wasn’t just the security guards who were concerned.

Actually, she just wanted to spend a nice evening with a glass of wine and good food. But then the evening unfolded for Catherine, Princess of Wales, 41, on an unexpected adventure. Break out as much as possible – a wish that her husband Prince William, 41, who is not present, can probably understand. Because the king’s son was spotted carefree dancing with his buddy Guy Pelly, 41, in London’s Koko nightclub in June.

Catherine, Princess of Wales: Dinner suddenly becomes a security risk

A little revenge for William’s men’s night? No, it probably wasn’t when Kate unexpectedly showed up at the Houghton Festival on the second weekend in August, according to the Daily Mail. Previously she had dined in the best of company with the dignified neighborhood in Norfolk.

The Royal accepted the invitation of the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley, David and Rose, to their imposing residence, Houghton Hall, not far from the Walese’s country home, Amner Hall. There she is said to have drunk spicy margaritas and tipped the staff 700 pounds (equivalent to a good 800 euros).

Kate was ‘nervous’ and ‘anxious’ ahead of festival visit

“After dinner, one of the guests suggested that Catherine go to the festival,” a source revealed. Kate was initially “nervous” and “anxious” and consulted with her security officer for a long time. Normally, most of their activities are “planned quite well in advance”, which then have to be approved by the security authority, reports Royal expert and “Daily Mail” columnist Richard Eden afterwards on the British TV show “Palace Confidential”. Kate probably had to wait for security to approve – and she obviously did.

It may well be that the 41-year-old had tingling in her stomach before attending the festival. After all, it had been a long time since King Charles’ daughter-in-law, 74, was able to spontaneously go to a relaxed event of this kind. Before her marriage to William, she enjoyed wild parties with her friends.

Where was Prince William?

The UK’s only 24-hour music festival is based on the brainchild of DJ Craig Richards. The Houghton Festival was first held in 2017. More than 200 artists performed on 13 stages from Thursday, August 10th to Sunday, August 13th, 2023. More than 12,000 visitors are said to have enjoyed themselves there.

Kensington Palace has so far declined to comment. That didn’t explain William’s absence either. However, rumor has it that he was out hunting grouse. With his Kate at the festival he would probably have shot the bird.
