Oktoberfest Stroll 2023 will be a prominent “class reunion”

Cathy Hummels celebrated her annual Oktoberfest stroll in Munich on Monday with VIP guests like Sophia Thiel and Désirée Nick.
Pretzels, white sausages, dirndls, lederhosen and Bavarian brass music – Cathy Hummels’ (35) annual Oktoberfest stroll had all that and more to offer this time. On the first Monday of the Oktoberfest (September 18th), the presenter invited the who’s who of the German celebrity scene to the festively decorated beauty and styling lounge in Munich’s Roomers Hotel to celebrate the Oktoberfest extravagantly and in 2023 under the motto “Love Edition”. .
“The Oktoberfest stroll is simply my baby,” she enthused in an interview with the news agency spot on news. Organizing your event, which has been an integral part of the Oktoberfest celebrity scene since 2017, involves a lot of effort every year. The presenter was “very excited” because “we had been working for this day for months”. As a host, she sets high standards for herself: “Then I organize everything so that it’s simply perfect, that it’s fun and that everyone who comes to me has a good time,” says Hummels.
Cathy Hummels: “I am a Bavarian girl”
Above all, it is important to her to pass on the tradition as a “Bavarian girl”. “I was born in Munich. My dad is Bavarian, my mom is Bavarian, my grandma is Bavarian. […] I went to school in Unterschleißheim. “It’s just part of my life,” Hummels reminisced.
When it comes to traditional costumes, the 35-year-old, who has already released several Dirndl collections, also follows new trends. This year she prefers to wear blouses that are high-necked and transparent. “When it comes to accessories, I love hairbands and lace socks,” she continued. “Dirndl, lederhosen, but also skirts with lace blouses are simply our costume – the Bavarian suit. I think dirndls are flattering on every woman and it’s fun to put on a dirndl. I think it’s a shame if you don’t wear a dirndl at the Oktoberfest because in traditional costume you feel the whole thing a little more.”
Sophia Thiel: “Wiesn stroll is always like a school reunion”
In addition to celebrities such as Lilly Becker (47), Sila Sahin (37), Sarah Engels (30) and Mark Keller (58), Sophia Thiel (28), now a close friend of the presenter, was also a guest in Munich. “I’m always looking forward to all the people who come because it’s always like a class reunion. And Cathy is the perfect organizer. She really anticipates every wish and takes care of everything very selflessly. It’s just a beautiful event and you feel like you’re in good hands,” enthused Thiel in an interview with spot on news. She is grateful for her friendship with Hummels: “We have a lot more in common than just being in a similar business. That’s really very valuable, also that you can have deep conversations and be there for each other, even in difficult times.”
Désirée Nick is looking forward to chicken and rides
Cabaret artist Désirée Nick (66), also a VIP guest on Hummels’ Wiesn Bummel, also looked forward to the subsequent marquee visits to Rischart’s Café Kaiserschmarrn and Käfer’s Wiesn-Schänke. “I’m looking forward to the special, hearty meal, to my chicken, to the beer and to people coming together in a very special atmosphere.” Wearing the dirndl again is also a highlight for the entertainer: “I really enjoy wearing dirndls, as a Berliner I don’t have much opportunity to do that. That’s best done in Bavaria.”
