Caught right away – burglar wanted to redeem fake prescriptions

The perpetrator of a burglary at a doctor in St. Veit could not enjoy his loot for long. The police had a real suspicion – so the burglar fell into the trap on the same day.

A 23-year-old St. Veiter smashed the window of a doctor’s office in the duchy with a stone on Tuesday night and stole doctor’s stamps, blank prescriptions and cash. “Because there was a suspicion that the perpetrator would immediately redeem the counterfeit prescriptions, all pharmacies in the area were informed,” explains the police. “And soon the employees of a pharmacy contacted us.” So the burglar was arrested in the afternoon. The officials also found a larger sum of cash and the doctor’s stamp on him. According to the police, the man has confessed and was taken to the Klagenfurt prison.
