Celebrity Weddings: Anyone who said yes despite Corona restrictions

The corona pandemic has already thwarted many wedding plans. Some prominent couples nevertheless dared to walk in front of the altar.

After almost four months, the corona pandemic continues to cause many people to change their wedding plans or even postpone the big celebration. Despite the need for distance and the obligation to protect the mouth and nose in many places, some celebrities have stepped in front of the altar since the beginning of March.

The most recent example: actor Ottfried Fischer (66). After 13 years of relationship, he gave his partner Simone Brandlmeier the last Friday (June 19) in Passau, Bavaria. Instead of the planned 100 guests, only 15 family members and closest friends were present at the wedding, which was supposed to take place in Regensburg, as Fischer confirmed the "Bild" newspaper. In addition to "Pastor Braun", these stars also sailed into the port of marriage despite the risk of viruses.

Hana Nitsche spontaneously stepped in front of the altar in Las Vegas

Model Hana Nitsche (34) surprised in mid-June with a photo spread on Instagram. On it you can see: her little daughter as a flower girl and Nitsche herself in a white dress and with a bouquet of flowers in her hand. Next to her partner Chris Welch, also in a white suit. In an interview with the news agency spot on news, the former "Germany's next top model" third confirmed her wedding in Las Vegas a few days later.

"The wedding was very spontaneous and at short notice and in a very small and intimate circle," said Nitsche. The wedding had taken place a month earlier, but due to the corona regulations and the current travel ban, only her "in-laws could be present" – in addition to "two witnesses who are very close friends of Chris. My family and friends could not fly in", the model reported.

The Wendler married in Florida, Stefan Mross on TV

Since last Friday (June 19), Michael Wendler (48, "She loves the DJ") and Laura Müller (19) have also officially been men and women. The couple said yes at a registry office in their adopted home in the US state of Florida, as both Wendler and Laura Müller – who is now officially called Laura Norberg – announced on their respective Instagram profiles. The big church wedding should follow the hit star "in a few weeks".

After Stefan Mross (44) asked his Anna-Carina Woitschack (27) the question of all questions in front of running TV cameras at the end of 2019, he also entered into the marriage bond in front of an audience of millions on the screens. In the ARD show "Schlagerlovestory.2020", the two said yes to each other on June 6, moderator Florian Silbereisen (38) acted as the best man. Mross and Woitschack had already planned their wedding in early March.

Dennis Quaid blew to Santa Barbara

Earlier this month, US actor Dennis Quaid (66, "The Day After Tomorrow") and Laura Savoie (26) burned together as they told People magazine. The couple, who had been engaged since last October, only married on 2 June in the presence of a pastor in Santa Barbara, California. Before the pandemic broke out, the two had planned a wedding in Hawaii in April, and a big celebration with family and friends should have taken place in Nashville, Mainland.

The rumor mill sparked at the end of April when Angelina Pannek (28) changed her maiden name Heger to Pannek and posted a photo that showed her in a cream-colored dress. A little later came the confirmation of the wedding with Sebastian Pannek (33): The two "The Bachelor" stars each shared a snapshot of the big day on their Instagram profiles. Because of the Corona crisis, only "family members and groomsmen (…) with proper safety distance" were present at the ceremony, the couple revealed. The Panneks have also recently become parents, and their first child was born in mid-June.

Bindi Irwin is "grateful" for her "imperfect" wedding

Without family and friends, but encouraged by the encouragement of their loved ones, Bindi Irwin (21) married at the end of March. The daughter of the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin (1962 – 2006) gave the yes to her friend Chandler Powell (23) on the grounds of the Australia Zoo. On Instagram, she posted a photo that shows her sitting in a white wedding dress next to her newly married husband. She wrote: "Despite everything, we got married and I will be grateful forever." Things weren't perfect, but that's the way life is.

In a nutshell, "The Nanny" actor Tim Sander (41) confirmed his wedding to his daughter's mother in March. "We did it!" Wrote the former "good times, bad times" actor next to an Instagram photo that shows him and his wife during the civil wedding. Sander also added the hashtag "#liebeinzeitenvoncorona" to his post.
