CES 2022 – Lenovo integrates Amazon Alexa into its Smart Clock connected alarm clock

On the occasion of the Las Vegas show, Lenovo enriched its connected alarm clock, the Smart Clock Essential, with a few new features. Google’s assistant now coexists with Amazon Alexa, and the device comes with a light base.

While the 2022 edition of CES is in full swing, Lenovo is taking the opportunity to renew its range of Smart Displays and present a new model of voice assistant with screen which is nothing other than a variation of the Smart Clock Essential.

Called Smart Clock Essential with Alexa Built-in, this device now incorporates the Amazon Alexa assistant, whereas until now it only integrated Google Assistant. A mini-revolution for Amazon aficionados who will therefore be able to use the Smart Clock Essential to control the connected objects of Andy Jassy’s firm.

Another novelty: Lenovo is giving its voice assistant a little beauty by adding a light base, the Ambient Light Dock, on which to put it. This base, which can also accommodate the Smart Clock 2, acts as a night light; it has eight lighting modes (sunset, rainbow, ocean blue …) to diffuse ambient or relaxing light. To select the mode of your choice, you just have to press the top of the device twice, ask Alexa, or go through the application.

The Lenovo Smart Clock Essential with Alexa Built-in will be available in March 2022 for € 69.99 on the manufacturer’s website. As for the Ambient Light Dock, it will be marketed next April at € 29.99.
