Two years against the backdrop of an epidemic, that leaves traces. Well aware that teleworking and remote communication have become key elements in the lives of many people, both Dell and HP have presented PC monitors that meet this need.

Discover these new references, unveiled at CES 2022 in Las Vegas.

A Sony 4K sensor for the Dell screen

We begin by detailing Dell’s offer, attractive on paper, since the American manufacturer equips its UltraSharp U3223QZ screen with a webcam that uses a Sony 4K HDR STARVIS CMOS sensor of 8.3 Mp. This sensor is already found on a single webcam, the UltraSharp that Dell has been marketing for a few months. The difference is that the webcam integrated into the monitor takes advantage of two microphones. It would be able to broadcast or record streams in 4K at 30 or 24 fps, but also in 1080p or 720p up to 60 fps, and it also has ergonomic settings to adjust its position.

For its part, the screen is a beautiful baby of 31.5 inches, limited to a refresh rate of 60 Hz. It has interesting features to make it a good office monitor, speakers with a power of 14 W and a plethora of connections, including USB-C and five SuperSpeed 10 Gbps USB-A ports, in other words USB 3.2 Gen 2. It is also capable of powering a laptop, up to 90 W, has an integrated KVM switch and comes with many other connections, as you can see in the image below.

HP unveils two monitors with integrated camera

HP’s offer is similar, with the difference that the camera that equips these two monitors is content with a 5.3 Mp sensor and a Full HD image. The HP Webcam Monitor M24 and M27 are also fairly standard monitors, equipped with 24 and 27 inch IPS panels with a maximum refresh rate of 75 Hz and support for AMD’s FreeSync.

On the connectivity side, we find HDMI and DisplayPort 1.2, but above all a 5 Gbps USB-C connection and two USB-A ports as well as a 3.5 mm audio output. The obvious advantage of these two screens is their price. They are indeed relatively affordable, since HJP evokes a price of 319 dollars for the M24 and 359 dollars for the M27.
