MSI unveiled on January 4, 2022 all the novelties on its laptops gamers and creatives that are based on 12th generation Intel processors and the new GeForce from Nvidia. The manufacturer is opportunistic and certifies his PCs as “Meta Ready”.

MSI waited for announcements from Nvidia and Intel to formalize the update of its seven laptop models gamers, not counting the screen size variations.

And for good reason, no model unveiled on January 4 includes AMD processors or graphics cards. Thus, the Crosshair, Stealth, Katana, Sword, Raider, Pulse and Vector (formerly Leopard) are all available with Intel Alder Lake processors and GeForce RTX 3000 Ti from Nvidia.

MSI now uses liquid metal type thermal pads instead of the traditional thermal paste. The manufacturer explains that, below 58 ° C, the thermal pad is solid, while, above this temperature, the pad becomes liquid. According to the manufacturer, this phase change allows up to 10% performance gain on the processor. A priori, only the GE66 and GE76 Raider, as well as the GS66 and GS76 Stealth, are equipped with this technology.

MSI strengthens its Creators

The Taiwanese manufacturer also took the opportunity to extend its Creator range. These portable PCs with muscular configurations and more professional designs are thus supplemented by a 17-inch version.

The Creator Z17 comes with a 17-inch IPS panel displaying 2560 x 1600 pixels at 165 Hz with a touchscreen overlay and support for MPP2.0 styluses. This chassis can accommodate an Intel Core i9-12900H processor and a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti in its most muscular configuration. A 16-inch version with the same characteristics is also offered, the MSI Creator Z16P.
