After GPS collars for dogs and cats, Invoxia goes even further with the Smart Dog Collar. This new collar, presented at CES 2022, must detect the heart and respiratory rates of dogs, in addition to geolocating them.
Heart problems are not just for humans. Our four-legged companions are just as concerned, and it is often more difficult to detect them in time in their case, they lack the word to express any discomfort. The French company Invoxia is trying to provide an answer to this problem with its Smart Dog Collar, a collar fitted with many sensors that will allow the activity and movements of dogs – of medium or large size only to be monitored. To see if the components can be reduced in size or arranged differently to adapt the collar in the future to smaller dogs, or even cats.
If size can therefore be a barrier to the adoption of the Smart Dog Collar, Invoxia on the other hand ensures that the fur, even thick, is in no way an obstacle. Thanks to “advanced components” coupled with an artificial intelligence developed with the help of veterinarians, the collar is supposed to be able to carry out its measurements regardless of the dog’s coat.
Invoxia indicates that the Smart Dog Collar is capable of detecting the heart rate, but also breathing continuously so as to provide the user with health data, but also sleep and activity monitoring. The collar also has a GPS chip that tracks the dog’s movements and receives alerts. “getaway”, when it leaves an area defined in advance in the mobile application. The Smart Dog Collar must finally be able to recognize behaviors and habits in animals. Note that it works on battery and has a low-consumption 4G connection (LTE-M) ensuring perfect autonomy, in addition to wifi and Bluetooth connections.
On the price side, the Invoxia necklace should be offered at € 99. The launch is expected during the summer with several colors, but also with an additional subscription whose price is currently estimated at a dozen euros per month.
