CES 2022: TCL promises 144Hz refresh rate on Mini-LED TVs

TCL gave an overview of what its televisions
Mini-LED for 2022, this afternoon at an online conference broadcast on YouTube. On the menu, among other things, the upcoming launch of a series of 144 Hz Mini-LED televisions.

We also learn that TCL is giving itself 5 years to become the leader in the Mini-LED televisions sector, see you in 2027!

144 Hz for even smoother gameplay

Just like Samsung and its unofficial 144Hz QD-OLED, TCL is also promising to launch a series of televisions capable of achieving high refresh rates. No range or model has yet been announced, but we know that only the manufacturer’s top-of-the-range Mini-LED televisions will allow this increased fluidity and responsiveness thanks to 144 Hz.

TCL also put the package on the subject of gaming during its conference. The manufacturer mentions a new space, the TCL Game Center, bringing together game selections and recommendations. Just like Samsung TVs, they will also integrate Google Stadia. A “Game Master” menu also makes its appearance, it allows to activate the game mode, which will offer automatic optimizations to adjust audio and image on consoles. All of this is accompanied by a Game Bar which gives access to various options, for example extending the display to 32: 9, activating HDR, and so on.

Strengthen the connected experience

Finally, TCL gave a lot of details on the features to come in order to strengthen the connected experience. This obviously goes through Google TV, but also through a health platform called TCL Health Hub. Finally, TCL wants to make the television the entry point to the connected home with TCL Home TV. This will involve controlling your connected devices directly from the TV, or using the smartphone application.

The affected televisions and the new TCL ranges should be unveiled in the coming weeks.
