With the ThinkBook Plus Twist, Lenovo has literally given its popular convertible notebook with an innovative double-display design a new twist at CES 2023.

Lenovo presented a new variant of the ThinkBook at CES 2023 in Las Vegas. The ThinkBook Plus Twist is equipped with a second display and a stylus and attracts with innovative hinge technology.
Because the lid of the ThinkBook Plus Twist is attached to the case with a rotary hinge in the middle. Admittedly, the concept is not entirely new. Lenovo already installed a comparable hinge in the ThinkPad Twist in 2013. This time, however, for the first time with a double display.
Two displays on a rotating hinge
You can use the convertible with a 13-inch OLED display in tablet or laptop mode. Alternatively, you can also use the ThinkBook with the second display, a 12-inch e-ink color display, as an e-reader or notebook.
Both screens are touchscreens and can be operated with your finger or the included stylus. The choice of display makes no difference to the content that can be called up. You can also access your desktop via E-Ink – only with a reduced resolution and lower refresh rate.

This mode is particularly well suited for text work, which is why Lenovo also calls it typewriter mode. The OLED display, on the other hand, with a 2.8K resolution and 400 nit luminosity – 400 times the luminosity of a candle – offers a comfortable working environment for the mobile office with graphically complex apps and video calls.
Current hardware and software
In terms of hardware, new components from Intel are used. With 13th generation Intel Core processors, up to 16 gigabytes of RAM and up to 1 terabyte of device memory, you are well equipped for most everyday and work situations.
The ThinkBook Plus Twist is very mobile. It is very compact with dimensions of 297 x 219 x 17.7 millimeters and a weight of 1.35 kilograms. The battery has a capacity of 56 watt hours – it is not known how long the usage time will be.
Windows 11 is preinstalled, which is also designed for tablet mode ex works. However, it remains to be seen how well the display looks on an e-ink display.
price and availability
The ThinkBook Plus Twist is expected to go on sale from June 2023. Depending on the configuration, the notebook is then available from 1,699 euros.
In addition to the ThinkBook Plus Twist, Lenovo also presented the ThinkPhone at CES.
