CES 2024: Minitailz, the AI that monitors animal health

Although many objects intended for monitoring human health at home already exist, animals have until now remained on the sidelines when it comes to connected health. The company Invoxia, world leader in GPS trackers for people, cars, pets and valuable objects, unveils Invoxia Minitailz, the first device powered by artificial intelligence designed for monitoring the health of cats and dogs.

An AI to monitor the health of our pets

The Minitailz is a miniaturized device weighing only 37 grams to attach to the collar of your four-legged ball of fur. With an autonomy of 15 days, the object allows the recovery of biometric data inherent to the respiratory and cardiac vital signs of dogs and cats. The company claims measurement accuracy of 97 to 99%, an important parameter for gaining the trust of pet owners. Able to assess the level of stress, aging as well as the risk of pathologies, this small box would even be able to detect atrial fibrillation, a common but dangerous arrhythmia in cats and dogs. Minitailz uses artificial intelligence to process the data collected by the sensors in order to evaluate the animal’s activity level and detect possible health-related anomalies.

Generative artificial intelligence is then used to write a summary of the measurements in a writing style that the pet owner can understand.

Integrated GPS tracker and connectivity

Minitailz integrates a state-of-the-art GPS tracker to follow the movements of animals equipped with the device. Capable of notifying the owner in real time, the object distinguishes between walks, shopping, daily games and car trips. Thanks to the connectivity of the Minitailz on the LTE-M network, this functionality is particularly useful for detecting a runaway or worse, a theft of the animal by a malicious individual who would have put it in a vehicle.

The Invoxia Minitailz is available at the price of €99 today on the manufacturer’s website for the version intended for dogs. The version for cats will be marketed from March 2024.
