It is no longer a secret that the PS5 Pro is coming. Industry experts and technology magazines have gained various insights through insider information and documents. A more powerful PlayStation 5 is becoming a reality.

After the technical data of the PS5 Pro was leaked, it is now clear that the console will have a special “Ultra Boost” mode. This is reported by the technology magazine The Verge.

This mode brings various advantages. It is intended to help VRR modes run at a higher frame rate. VRR stands for Variable Refresh Rate – a feature that can fundamentally promote a smoother gaming experience.

Overall, the frame rate should be more stable in certain games. It is also possible for games with variable resolution to be displayed in even higher resolution.

The Verge also mentions a special seal that games optimized for PS5 Pro should bear: PS5 Pro Enhanced. Here you can expect increased frame rates, resolutions and improved ray tracing, although not necessarily all at once. The benefits will probably vary depending on the game.

Games that run at 1080p and 1440p at 30 FPS on the PS5 should be playable on the PS5 Pro at the same frame rate in 1280p and 2160p. Developers can of course also aim for 60 FPS, but Sony will not award the PS5 Pro Enhanced seal if the frame rate is simply increased.
