Friday January 25, 2022, Antoine de Caunes will present the 47th Cesar ceremony at the Olympia. During a press briefing, the presenter expressed his desires for this evening, and launched a small tackle to Corinne Masiero.
For the tenth time, Antoine de Caunes will present the Cesar ceremony, Friday January 25, 2022. Happy to be at the helm of this evening dedicated to cinema, it was during a press briefing that the presenter confided: “I want to put the cinema back at the heart of the evening. I want us to celebrate cinema both as an art and as entertainment. I want there to be emotion, laughter… The ideal cocktail that I imagine at the Césars.“While the 2021 edition had been marked by the absence of an audience and Marina Foïs, then mistress of ceremonies had struggled to make the evening joyful, Antoine De Caunes slipped:”I would have so hated to be in Marina’s place. There were no films, no spectators, it was freezing…“
The 46th Cesar ceremony had particularly marked the spirits following the appearance on stage of the star of the series Captain Marleau, Corinne Masiero. Angry, the actress appeared naked and bloodied on stage, with writing on the back: ‘Give us back the art, Jean.‘ Asked about this, Antoine de Caunes revealed: “It was a happening: it was not expected that it comes undone! As a viewer, I found it both trashy and artistically interesting. If we can avoid this register, we will avoid“, before adding: “We must avoid provocative gratos, the thing that only pleases its author. It’s good when we laugh together. I’m not going to do a single on stage or a one-man show, I’m not chasing punchlines. You have to respect the reason why we do the César, which is to celebrate cinema. I will do it with my little side step.“
Antoine de Caunes: “It’s not an easy evening to build”
To conclude, the presenter explained during this press briefing: “This is the tenth time I’ve presented the ceremony, but it’s been a while since the last time. It’s not an easy evening to build. We all know the difficulties of exercise. And at the same time, I want this year because I find it very important to make people want to return to theaters. We are coming out of the hardcore confinement that we have known a little bit and the cinema has come back to life. Above all, there are plenty of films with tonalities represented, so there is material.“
