Snapchat is rolling out some new features for the app. As a result, the artificial intelligence My AI will no longer respond to some of you or will respond only to a limited extent.
Snapchat’s Family Center is getting new features. According to a press release from Snapchat, parents can now also make settings regarding the artificial intelligence My AI and restrict it from answering the questions of their teenage children.
The family center had already introduced the messenger in 2022. The dashboard allows parents to set content controls for the platform to prevent their kids from seeing age-inappropriate posts. However, the children must agree to parental supervision.
Parents can restrict AI
My AI has been included in Snapchat since the end of April 2023. This is a chatbot based on artificial intelligence (AI) that can answer your questions and, for example, help you find a suitable gift for a friend. According to Snapchat, the bot should also take into account the age of the person asking the question and provide an age-appropriate answer.
In a test on the website Jugendschutz.net, the bot did not succeed in doing this in every case or it became entangled in contradictions during the course of the conversation. Maybe one reason why Snapchat is now giving parents “more power” over AI. If you want to remove My AI completely, you currently still need Snapchat+.
